John & Gordon will be live in the WSM studios at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm CST. The Jordanaires, arguably the most famous and awarded American vocal quartet, formed as a gospel group in 1948. They are best known for providing vocal background for Elvis Presley, in live appearances and recordings from 1956 to 1972. The group has also worked in the recording studio, on stage, and on television with many other Country and Rock and Roll artists. They are members of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Nacmai Hall of Fame, Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Christian Music Hall of Fame, and the Country Music Hall of Fame.
They have also been honored by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences for having sung on more top-ten recordings than any other group in the world. Most recent estimates of recording sales shows the Jordanaires have sung background on recordings with sales in excess of 8 billion units. They are also proud members of the Grand Ole Opry and have been performing as a group for more than 60 years.
