Kentucky Coffeetree, Eddie & Bob!

Just wanted to say how much we completely loved playing in Frankfort KY last weekend. The Coffeetree is a wonderful place. The owners Mary & Walt are totally sweet & cool. The audience was just right with us (and very close), the sound is pristine, and the historic district the venue is located in is wonderful to walk around in. Last wednesday night while driving to The Long Players rehearsal I turned on WSM AM 650 and caught some great live music from The Music City Roots show, I heard Holy Ghost Tent Revival and they knocked me out. What a fresh spin on blues, & ragtime with killa vocals. Kind of like Charlie Poole meets The Beatles. My two other finds last week were Jazz singer J D Walter & female Jazz singer extraordinaire Rhiannon. There are two DJ’s ledt in America that are worth listening to whenever you get the chance. These are guys that know the music they play inside and out, are musicians themselves and never cease to turn me onto something old or new that is so worth having as a listener & music lover. Eddie Stubbs & Bob Parlocha. You can find Eddie on WSM 650 AM weeknights, and The Opry most weekends, Bob is on here in Nashville from 11 PM till really early in the morning on WMOT 89.5 FM. You can find Bob on the net at jazzwithbobparlocha.com and Eddie at wsmonline.com. These guys are providing an art that is almost gone, which is basically them programing their own shows, going live on air and providing the listeners with factual, historic insight, and reference to the music we are listening to.
